British Prime Minister David Cameron updated the House of Commons on the outcome of his trip to Afghanistan and his meeting with European Union (EU) leaders in Brussels. Following his statement, members asked about the future of British membership in the EU, the government’s plan for helping British troops adapt after leaving Afghanistan ,and European relations with the U.S. following the revelation that the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs included European nations. Prime Minister Cameron also acknowledged the membership of Croatia into the European Union and told the house he was in favor of an expanded EU. close
