Elisabeth Rosenthal talked about her New York Times series on the cost of childbirth in the United States. The series was based on Truven Health Analytics study that showed the U.S. as the nation with the highest childbirth costs in the world. Topics included “medicalized” birth deliveries, health care provider payment incentives, and health care policy as part of the reason behind high increases in out-of-pocket maternity care costs. Ms. Rosenthal also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
