Mike Leister toured the Air Mobility Command Museum and showed some of the aircraft once used in the airlift and air refueling mission of the U.S. Air Force. Exhibits included a retired C-47 that was used in D-Day operations, a C-133 once used to haul strategic missiles, and the old control tower that once sat on the Dover Air Force Base.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Dover, Delaware, from June 17-21 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
