Telephone lines were open for comments on the questions “Is Congress Broken?” The question was inspired by a New York TImes piece that day by Jennifer Steinhauser and a blog by Sarah Wheaton based on Robert Kaiser’s book Act of Congress.
Video clips were shown of Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) speaking about Senate rules on July 11, 2013, and of Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) being interviewed about immigration for "Newsmakers".
Thomas DeFrank, a contributing editor to National Journal, was interviewed by telephone about the legacy of the late President Gerald Ford. close
