Aereo founder Chet Kanojia talked about the future of video and his company that streams regular broadcast TV station signals through antennas to any web-enabled device. He discussed the legislative, legal, and technological issues surrounding the company, including the refusal of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to deny some major broadcaster’s request for an injunction shutting down Aereo. Aereo has avoided paying the retransmission fees that Time Warner Cable and DirecTV pay for airing broadcastt, and was sued by such companies as CBS, Comcast, News Corporation, and the Walt Disney Company. close
