Bruce Mowday talked about the American Revolution’s Battle of Brandywine. General George Washington lined his troops along the east branch of the Brandywine River in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, as he prepared to defend the city of Philadelphia against the British army of General William Howe. The day turned into a disaster for Washington as a British plan almost trapped Washington’s troops. British officers contended that if they had one more hour of daylight the Rebel army would have ceased to exist. close
