Frank Oliveri talked about the future of Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program, and responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Topics included its advertised capabilities and mission, cost and budget, congressional support and oversight, and arguments for and against maintaining the program.
The Pentagon was planning to build over 2,400 of these advanced technology aircraft for use by all branches of the U.S military at a total estimated cost of $1.5 trillion, despite a decade of administrative problems, cost over-runs and technical glitches.
