The Senate Foreign Relations Committee marked up and approved a resolution on authorization for the use of military force in Syria in response to use of chemical weapons against civilians in that country. After debating the proposed measure, the committee approved the resolution on a vote of ten to seven, with one member voting present. The measure set a 60-day deadline plus a 30-day extension and would ban any use of U.S. armed forces on the ground in Syria. close
