Witnesses testified about the security of personal information in electronic medical and health insurance records in the government data hub that would help people buy health insurance. The previous day the government announced that security testing and certification had been completed on the system that would go online October 1, 2013. Concerns included regulating who would have access to the system and users inadvertently violating federal privacy laws.
