Juanita Patience Moss talked about her book, The Forgotten Black Soldiers in White Regiments During The Civil War, in which she discusses the role of African-American soldiers in the Civil War. In her book, she documents some 2,000 African-American soldiers who fought in the war, including her great grandfather, Crowder Patience. This event was part of the 2013 Fall for the Book Festival, and annual book festival held at George Mason University and other locations in and around Fairfax, Virginia. close
