Rick Hart, director of the John M. Lilley Library at Pennsylvania State University, Erie, The Behrend College, talked about The Hammermill Paper Company Collection. He spoke about the Behrend brothers, Ernst, Otto and Bernard, who along with their father Moritz formed the Hammermill Paper Company, which became one of the region’s largest employers. In 1984 Hammermill was purchased by International Paper Company which ran the Erie plant until it’s closing in 2002.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Erie, Pennsylvania, from September 16-20 to feature the history and literary life of the community.
