Charles Hurt talked about the options faced by the House of Representatives as they met that Saturday to resolve the “clean” bill passed the previous day by the Senate that would allow short-term funding of the government with the House-passed bill that would also de-fund the health care law. The continuing resolution was needed to fund the government past Monday, September 30, 2013, to avoid a possible shutdown of the government. He also discussed how the House might proceed not only with the continuing resolution but also options it could use to tie it to raising the debt limit. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
Video clips were shown of Senator Ted Cruz-(R-TX) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) speaking the previous day. close
