Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) came to the floor to discuss the Veterans' Affairs spending bill and why the Senate would not take up the House bill that funds that department. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) came to the floor and urged Republicans to “open the government - the entire government” and then both sides could sit down to work out differences. Senator Cruz asked for a colloquy on the floor with Senator Reid, who refused. Senators Durbin (D-IL) and Stabenow (D-MI) interrupted with questions. close
