The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services hosted a conference call for reporters to provide an update on efforts to fix technical problems at healthcare.gov, the Web site for enrolling in the federal health care insurance exchange.

Jeffrey Zients, hired by the White House to review healthcare.gov, said that his assessment of the site was completed, and while there were many of issues, they were fixable. There were two categories of issues - performance and functionality. He announced that QSSI would serve as the general contractor overseeing continued efforts to fix and improve healthcare.gov. He said that he was confident that by the end of November 2013 the site would work smoothly for users. close
