Marilyn Tavenner testified about the problems with the release of the Healthcare.gov Web site for the federal health insurance exchange. Ms. Tavenner in her opening statement apologized to users for the difficulties that include slow response times and account creation, and said she was confident that needed improvements would be made by the end of November. She was asked several times to provide enrollment figures but repeatedly replied that the numbers would not be available until mid-November. Other topics included Web site security, verification, and insurance companies that have canceled existing health coverage policies. close
