Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on a question about National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs: “Should Congress endorse or stop these intelligence efforts?” The previous day, Senate Select Intelligence Committee Chair Diane Feinstein called for a “total review” of the intelligence programs after finding out that her committee was not made aware of all NSA surveillance programs and that President Obama did not know the U.S. was spying on German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other allies.

Politico.com technology correspondent Tony Romm, speaking by phone, previewed the House Select Intelligence Committee hearing with intelligence community officials about NSA surveillance.

Kyle Cheney previewed the week’s hearings on the problems with the release of the Healthcare.gov Web site for the health insurance exchanges. Mr. Cheney also was interviewed by phone. close
