Historic Interpreter Julia Porter visited the Montana State Capitol building and talked about how Helena was selected to be the capital of the state. The building was completed in 1902, and was the first state capitol building in the country to be built with steam-radiator heat, electricity and indoor plumbing.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Helena, Montana, from October 7-11 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
