Tour Guide Bobi Harris talked about Montana’s original governor’s mansion. Built in 1888 as a private residence for William Chessman, a Helena speculator and developer, the three story Queen Anne style mansion became the state’s Governor’s Mansion in 1913.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Helena, Montana, from October 7-11 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
