Stanley Weintraub talked about his book, Young Mr. Roosevelt: FDR’s Introduction to War, Politics, and Life, in which he recounts the early political career of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who in 1913 at the age of 31 was appointed the assistant secretary of the Navy by President Woodrow Wilson. The author reported on Roosevelt’s role in the Wilson administration and his desire to secure a higher public office in spite of his troubled health and marriage. Stanley Weintraub spoke at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York. close
