Guests visited and talked about the Marian Library, located on the campus of the University of Dayton. The Marian Library Collection is recognized as the world’s largest and most comprehensive theological collection of printed materials on Mary, who, according to the Bible, is the mother of Jesus. The library was established in 1943 by the University of Dayton Marianists. The library collection holds over 100,000 books and pamphlets in some fifty languages, ranging from the invention of printing in the fifteenth century to the present. The collection also holds more than 63,000 clippings from newspapers and magazines.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Dayton, Ohio, from November 18-21 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
