Panelists assesed the agreement the U.S. and five other global powers (P5+1) reached with Iran on a six-month test freeze of the country’s nuclear program. Moderator Barbara Slavin began with an overview of the agreement. Trita Parsi detailed the days and hours leading up the deal. Ms. Slavin and Mr. Parsi were optimistic about the deal while former Mr. Limbert was more skeptical. Topics during the audience question and answer portion included the views of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Saudi Arabia, the role of the U.S. Congress involving sanctions, and a comparison between the North Korean and Iranian nuclear talks.
