Emily Ethridge talked about the state-run health insurance exchanges, which are part of the Affordable Care Act, and she responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. While enrollment in federally run exchanges had proven difficult in October and November of 2013, states running their own exchanges had reported a “surge” in November 2013 enrollments. Other topics included upcoming Supreme Court challenges to the health care law and the Obama administration’s handling of difficulties of the implementation of the Healthcare.gov Web site.
