White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough talked about the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. He apologized for the problems with the HealthCare.gov Web site for health insurance exchanges, but said the website was functioning better, and was able to handle more than one million new visits on the previous day. He said health care was the most complicated issue he had ever dealt with but possibly the most important. Former Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD) talked about health care reform, focusing on the challenges of making the American health care system more affordable and effective.
These were the keynote speakers at “Public Policy Forum 2013: The Implementation of the Affordable Care Act -Opportunities and Challenges.” This was the third in a series of public policy forums held at Arent Fox law firm with the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. close
