Middle East experts talked about U.S. interests in Syria and Iran, and how they converge with those of Russia and Israel. Carter administration National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said that the conflict in Syria was sectarian from the start. He also advised that it would be a long time before Iran was actually able to launch a nuclear weapon.
“The United States, Russia and the Middle East” was the first panel of a day-long conference titled, “The United States, Russia and the Middle East,” held by the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Al-Monitor.com in Kenney Auditorium in the school’s Nitze Building. close
