Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered his annual state-of-the-nation address to the Federal Assembly in Moscow. He told members that Russia was not trying to be a superpower or “encroach on anyone’s interest” and that the world needed to make collective, responsible decisions when it came to Syria. Mr. Putin also addressed the political situation in the Ukraine. He urged political leaders in Ukraine to come up with a solution that best suited the interests of the people and said they were under no obligation to join a customs union. close
