Navy Secretary Ray Mabus briefed reporters on a review of husbanding policies and new contracting initiatives being made in response to a recent corruption and bribery scandal in port servicing contracts. Husbanding companies are contractors that provide food, fuel, tugboats, and port security to Navy ships around the world. He also said that he bluntly told criminal investigators to pursue the widening Glenn Defense Marine Asia bribery scandal “wherever it leads” and that he expected more people to get swept up in a case that had already tarred several senior officers and exposed an international, multimillion-dollar fraud scheme. close
