Former New York Solicitor General Shirley Siegel talked about her life and work, as well as the struggles she faced in the legal profession being both female and Jewish. As the only woman to graduate from Yale Law School in 1941, Ms. Siegel said she found it very difficult to get a job in the legal profession because she was a woman, and she was Jewish. She spoke about the prejudices she faced, as well as her professional successes. A participant in the National Youth Administration, a New Deal agency, she worked on fair housing reform for over 70 years. close
