House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) briefed reporters and answered questions about the Democratic agenda in the House. Topics included the prospects in the House for a bill extending unemployment insurance, the 50th anniversary of the “War on Poverty,” health care, and immigration reform. When asked about the controversy over political retribution in New Jersey and closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge she joked that she was more concerned over traffic for the Super Bowl. She said Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) was justified in his response but said she could only imagine his reaction if a Democratic governor was in a similar situation. close
