Internet Caucus Co-Chairman Senator John Thune (R-SD) talked about Internet policy trends in 2014 and the future of the industry. His comments focused on limiting regulations on the Internet, criticizing those who say they are interested in protecting the Internet as limiting innovation. He said the main role of government should be protecting users from threats abroad. He also called on the private sector to bridge the digital divide, using his 90-year old father as an example of how it helps people stay connected.
