Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) talked about how libertarianism shaped his views of the Internet. He called for a repeal of the part of the PATRIOT Act that protects Internet companies from litigation, saying that individuals should be able to sue if companies give out their private information to a government without their approval. Other topics included security breaches and the punishment he deemed due to National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden.
