A live scene was shown of re-enactors assembling a wooden hut on the grounds of Montpelier, the former estate of President James Madison in Orange, Virginia.

One hundred and fifty years ago - in the winter of 1864 - a Confederate Army brigade from South Carolina camped there. The Civil War re-enactors demonstrated what it was like at the winter camp for soldiers, officers, and their families. Archeological finds as well as historical records were used to reconstruct the camp. close
