Tevi Troy talked about his book, What Jefferson Read, Ike Watched, and Obama Tweeted: 200 Years of Popular Culture in the White House, in which he examines the popular culture that American presidents have engaged in over the past two-hundred years. Amongst the many presidential profiles in his book, the author recounts Andrew Jackson’s interest in attending the theatre, the reading habits of Dwight Eisenhower, who loved Westerns, and Woodrow Wilson’s screening of the first movie in the White House. Mr. Troy talked about President Obama’s use of popular culture in his campaigns.
