In celebration of the 35th anniversary of C-SPAN, a video clip was shown from the yearly timeline of memorable moments in the House of Representatives. 

On January 6, 2001, following the 2000 Florida recount and a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Al Gore presided over the Electoral College vote count conducted in a joint session, which resulted in his Republican opponent, George W. Bush, officially winning the presidency. close
