This film is a 1954 U.S. Army “Big Picture” report on North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) cooperative military exercises in Europe to contain the Soviet Union and protect strategic assets such as the Suez canal. The films begins in March 1954 with Exercise Medflex Able, which was held in the Mediterranean Sea near Gibraltar. Also profiled were Exercise Keystone in September 1954, which began near the Achilles Line in Northern Greece, and Exercise Indian Summer, held in the U.S. zone of Germany. close
