Robert Kaplan talked about his book, Asia’s Cauldron: The South China Sea and the End of a Stable Pacific, in which he discusses China’s efforts to control the South China Sea, a body of water that has large oil and gas reserves and is used by more than half the world’s merchant fleets. He said that aggressive efforts by China in this area could lead to a conflict that will involve the U.S. During this event hosted by the Center for a New American Security, Mr. Kaplan spoke with Steve Inskeep. close
