Members of the House continued debate on a Republican fiscal year 2015 budget resolution authored by Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan (R-WI). The plan called for a balanced budget within 10 years via $5.1 trillion in spending cuts and no increase in revenues. A large portion of the reduction in spending would come from repealing the Affordable Care Act, changing the Medicare and food stamp programs, reducing the federal workforce, and ending a student loan reimbursement program. close
