Republican and Democratic leaders spoke on the House floor about the Republican fiscal year 2015 budget resolution. Authored by Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan, the plan called for a balanced budget within 10 years by making over $5 trillion in cuts with no additional tax revenues. The proposal would repeal the health care law while also making changes to the Medicare and food stamp programs. The Senate was not expected to take up the measure. close
