Sarah Langsdon talked about the journals of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira Cozzens Rich. Dr. Rich was the first doctor in Ogden, Utah. Covering the years from 1892 to 1965, the 74 journals document major occurrences on Ogden’s history, including the influenza outbreak of 1917. Ms. Langsdon read from the journals to provide perspective on a pivotal time in Ogden’s history.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Ogden, Utah, from April 5-11 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
