Paul Dickson talked about his book, Authorisms: Words Wrought by Writers, in which he looks at the creation of words by authors, including Geoffrey Chaucer, William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, and Louisa May Alcott. In his book, the author reports that Shakespeare created hundreds of words, such as critical, hurry, and bedazzled. He also examines the coinage of words by more contemporary authors, including Kurt Vonnegut, who introduced granfallon, and science-fiction writer William Gibson, who first used cyberspace. Paul Dickson spoke at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C. close
