Kwame Anthony Appiah talked about his book, Lines of Descent: W.E.B. Du Bois and the Emergence of Identity, in which he recounts W.E.B. Du Bois' time spent as a student at the University of Berlin. The author reported that Du Bois, who arrived in Germany in 1892, was taught by scholars whose historical study was mixed with their political activism, which proved to be a great influence on Du Bois. Kwame Anthony Appiah spoke with Cornel West, professor emeritus at Princeton University, at Labyrinth Books in Princeton, New Jersey. close
