Mary Jo White and Mark Wetjen testified on oversight of U.S. financial markets, and the fiscal year 2015 budget for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). They spoke about the resources the SEC and CFTC would need to fully enforce the new regulations under the Dodd-Frank Act. Both agencies had a number of additional responsibilities under the new law. The SEC was requesting $1.7 billion dollars for its fiscal year 2015 budget. The CFTC was requesting $280 million for fiscal year 2015, an increase of $65 million. close
