Veterans Administration officials and representatives testified on the difficulties military members experience in their transition to civilian life. At the time of the hearing, several investigations had been launched into the health care of veterans. Linda Halliday, addressing the benefits backlog problems, said the number was dropping but acknowledged her concerns with the workload management in other areas because the priority had always been to decrease the backlog, leaving other issues unaddressed in a timely manner. close
