Joe Hickman talked about Lemuria Books in Jackson, Mississippi, an independent bookstore specializing in first editions. Mr. Hickman showed items from Lemuria’s collection rooms, including signed copies of books by authors William Faulkner and Eudora Welty. He also spoke about how the shop built relationships with national authors in order to bring them to Lemuria for readings and book signings.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Jackson, Mississippi, from April 24-29 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments aired on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments aired on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
