Michael Golay talked about his book, America 1933: The Great Depression, Lorena Hickok, Eleanor Roosevelt, and the Shaping of the New Deal, in which he tells the story of Ms. Hickok, who was hired to travel to the areas of America most affected by the Great Depression and report back to Eleanor Roosevelt on what she observed.
