Governor Jay Nixon (D-MO) and the commander of the highway patrol provided an update following a police shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown and subsequent protests. State Highway Patrol Captain Johnson, who had been placed in charge of security in Ferguson, Missouri, talked about how the protests were being handled. He responded to questions from members of the audience. He declined to comment on the investigation as he was not involved. Topics included the coordination and release of information. Governor Nixon also responded to questions from the media and local residents.
