Telephone lines, including a line reserved for veterans, were open for viewer comments on the Obama administration’s announcement the previous day of executive actions aimed at improving health care delivery through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Video clips were shown of President Obama and VA Secretary Robert McDonald speaking to the American Legion the previous day. Military Times congressional reporter Leo Shane talked by telephone about White House executive actions aimed at improving the VA health care services as well as a VA inspector general report detailing systemic issues in VA health care delivery.
