Ken Burns spoke at a National Press Club luncheon about his documentary series, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, in which he chronicles the lives of Theodore, Franklin, and Eleanor Roosevelt. In his speech he listed many of the ways their legacies continue to reach into contemporary American life. He said that the central questions of both Roosevelt presidencies, namely the role of government, “is the central question of our time.” Following his prepared remarks, he responded to audience members' written questions. close
