Attorneys representing the families of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, congressional leaders, and social justice advocates talked about policing behavior toward minorities. They focused on shooting deaths of young black men, and citizens' rights when pulled over by police. Several of the panelists told personal stories of their treatment by police. They also talked about building better relationships with local police departments.

“Know Your Rights: Minorities Dealing with the Police and Issues of Police Brutality” was a session of the 44th Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, held in the Washington Convention Center. close
