Members of the Judicial Proceedings Panel reviewed military statues about sexual assault. The discussion included the Rape Shield Rule, privacy, and the rights of the victim versus the rights of the defendant including bringing in prior sexual history of the alleged victim.

“Sexual Assault Victims' Privacy at Article 32 and Court-Martial Proceedings” was the second panel of a full-day public meeting of the Department of Defense’s Judicial Proceedings Panel in order to review the Uniform Code of Military Justice involving adult sexual assault and misconduct. The meeting was held in the Holiday Inn in Arlington, Virginia. close
