Representative Henry Waxman (D-CA) talked about global health and health care policy challenges. He discussed some of the major legislation he helped pass involving pharmaceutical drugs and the tobacco industry, and also commented on current health issues including Ebola and what he called the “politicizing of science.” He was interviewed by a former legislative staffer who served as a counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health and the Environment, which Representative Waxman chaired from 1979 to 1994.

Representative was retiring from the House of Representatives at the end of the year after serving 20 terms close
